Privacy Policy

This policy covers Red Rock Directory, the trading name of The Red Rock Home, at QFC Tower 1, West Bay, Doha, Qatar. If you have a question about anything here, write to info@theredrockdirectory.com.

What this website collects

Less than most. This site uses no cookies, no advertising pixels, no Google Analytics and no third party tracking of any kind. Nothing about your visit is sent to Google, Meta or any analytics company, and no third party receives data about you because you read a page here.

We do keep our own visit statistics, described under Visit statistics below. They run entirely on our own server and are never shared or sold.

Fonts are served from our own servers rather than a font provider, so simply loading a page does not disclose your visit to anyone else.

Information you send us

If you use the contact form or subscribe to updates, we receive what you type: typically your name, email address, company and message. That submission is delivered to us by email.

If you apply to be listed using the directory listing form, we also save your submission to a file on our server so that a request is never lost if an email fails to arrive. It is reviewed by a person before anything is published, and nothing appears in the directory automatically.

We use it to reply to you and, where you asked for it, to send you updates. We do not sell it.

The business directory

Our directory lists organisations operating in Qatar, along with business contact details such as a company switchboard number or a general enquiries address. It is intended as business to business information, not personal contact data.

If you are named in a listing, or a listing contains details you want corrected or taken down, email info@theredrockdirectory.com with the company name and what should change. We will act on reasonable requests, and we will tell you what we have done.

Our own visit statistics

We measure how the site is used so we can see which pages are worth keeping and which are not. This is our own software running on our own server. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising network and no data broker involved, and the figures are never shared or sold.

For each visit we record:

• the pages viewed, in what order, and how long each was on screen
• how far down a page you scrolled
• the address of the page that linked you here, if any
• device type, operating system, browser, screen size, and browser language
• your IP address, and the country derived from it

The country is worked out on our own server from an offline lookup table. Your IP address is not sent to any outside service to do it.

No cookies are used. A short lived identifier is held in your browser’s session storage so that several page views can be recognised as one visit, and it is discarded when you close the tab.

We keep your IP address, which in some countries counts as personal data. We use it to tell repeat visits apart from new ones and to work out roughly where our visitors are. We do not use it to identify you personally, and we do not combine it with anything else to try to.

If you would rather not be counted, email info@theredrockdirectory.com and we will exclude your IP address. Most browsers can also block the script outright, and the site works normally when they do.

WhatsApp

The chat button on this site is a link. Nothing is shared with WhatsApp unless you click it, and from that point the conversation is governed by WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy rather than this one.

Who else sees your data

Our website hosting and email providers process data on our behalf in order to run the site and deliver messages. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.

How long we keep it

Enquiry emails are kept while the enquiry is live and for as long as we have a working relationship. Ask us to delete your enquiry and we will, unless we are required to keep it.

Visit statistics, including IP addresses, are deleted automatically after 12 months. Directory listing applications are kept while the listing is live, or discarded if the application is refused.

• Ask what we hold about you, and we will tell you
• Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
• Ask us to delete your enquiry or unsubscribe you
• Ask for a directory listing to be corrected or removed

Changes

If we start using cookies, or share data with anyone new, this page will say so and the date at the top will change. Our own visit statistics were added on 23 August 2026 and this page was updated on 24 August 2026 to describe them; it should have been updated first, and we are noting that here rather than quietly changing the wording.
